Apparently a Pentagon report recently came out stating that we would have troops in our own country monitoring our every move by 2011, and that we would either be attacked with nuclear or biological weapons before 2013.
We should protest on the soldier bit. We should get the whole country to stand up and fight back for our already-lost freedom, even if it's just the illusion, because we should not let ourselves be weak and get trampled down by the stronger.
I sincerely hope someone else thinks like I do, or all is lost.
Yes I have heard about this also. It is yet another move for the New World Order to take over this country and the world. It is not enough that they are already engineering this whole financial crisis to get us in to a depression so they can take over all assets, but they are taking our liberties also and trying to get us conditioned to seeing military on the streets, even for small things like helping police and firefighters. They are trying to engineer crises so they can declare martial law and completely take over and make this a dictatorship! It's beyond evil what they're doing!
Also, for those that are reading these posts and don't know what we're talking about, you can go to sites like www.infowars.com, www.prisonplanet.tv, or www.rense.com and there are loads of articles and info there.
All I have to say is that with every breath I have in my body I oppose corruption, deceit, and lies. There's no way they're going to stop me. They can tie me to a tree and beat md... but they can't stop me! lol nobody would get that reference, except Pipeline callers. But withe every breath I have I defy the corruption.
The financial crisis was brought on by curroption, incompitence and people spending a dollar fifty for every dollar they earnt, in other words a combination of greed, short sightedness and stupidity (not just American, this has been a world wide problem really recently), now the drunken spending orgy is finished you can't seriously try to come out and blame the secret military or conspiracy theorists for the mistakes that were made. The Amerifcans still believe in the so-called freedom, which means accepting the CEOs of car companies that lose billions of dollars to get millions of dollars in bonuses, because something else would be redistribution by the government. SoIf the government doesn't like something or someone they can use phrases like government redistribution, socialist, or terrorist, as slogans and everyone goes along with the opinions blindly and happily pay the Ford boss another million dollars of their tax money whilst the education system crumbles and more and more people live on the streets, all in the name of freedom and capitalism. Even with quality of life somewhere in the top 20 to top 30 in the world Americans are possessed by the notion that they are the land of the free and their system is right and superior to the rest of the world, even if at least 19 countries in the so-called rest of the world have better health care and better average quality of life. Whben something goes wrong then a conspiracy theory, probably involving socialists and terrorists, probably working together, is cooked up and spread through web sites and people go all high, mighty and self righteous.
The Pentagon said Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, they, like anyone else, try to report to get the maximum amount of money for their projects and employees, there's no independent oversight and too many people take their reports at face value. That's a problem, the military, like pointed out, has too much hold on the country. People have just got to stop, think for themselves and try to make clever decissions, such as less money on guns, more on education and healthcare.
That being said, hopefully times are changing, regardless, this is a great country, although somewhat fallen from grace of late.

What lost freedom? You've posted a view which is not favourable to the government of the US, and you can do so again and again. You have the freedom to do that. When you listen to the radio, you can choose the station you want to listen to. The US government doesn't ban all broadcasts which aren't state-owned like the government of North Korea. When you go to the high street or on your computer, you can buy or hear music. The US government hasn't taken that freedom away from you. The Taliban have denied people that freedom and still do. When you go on the internet, you can read articles which say you're about to lose your freedom, you can read articles which support your views against the current US government. In China, websites which criticise the government are blocked. If you want to be homosexual, you won't be stoned to death in the US You could be stoned to death in Iran. If you want to have sex out of marriage, you can in the US without the police violently lashing you for it. You can't in Saudi Arabia. If you don't like your government in the US, you have the right to elect a different party. You wouldn't have that right if you lived in Burma.
If you really care about freedom, stop been so selfish, and do something to help those who have less fredom than you.
I will say that our ability to post views that opposes that of the government is freedom. Here in the US, we have arguably more fredoms than people from countries such as China and the like. However, I would counter Senior's comment by stating that the only reason freedom seems to still exist is because of the gradual, and I repeat gradual, infringement upon those freedoms.
Prior to the Patriot Act many considered it an absurd, if not impossible, idea that the government would attempt to spy on one's phone calls or electronic correspondences.
All this talk of conspiracies adn hidden agendas may seem crazy and fantastical to some, but look back in history and realize that there have been many times where the crazies were oftentimes the geniuses and those who have opposed conventional wisdom have turned out to be right after all.
don't discount a theory just because it does not line up with any current principles and rules of operation in your own current schema or worldview.

I think if we speak out against those taking the freedoms and liberties from us while we still have the freedom to do so, it may stop all of this. This is not to say you cannot try to help other people in other places that don't have freedom, but if we eventually lose all of our liberties just like those other countries and we don't try to stop it here and now, then what good would it do us to try to stop the unfree some where else when we won't even have our own freedom. It's just like it was posted earlier by Gracesong that it seems like we are free now, but the freedom is gradually being taken away by the Patriot Act and other legislation that has been passed, especially after the September 11 attacks. There is a famous quote that says "If you give up liberty for security, then you deserve neither." or something to that effect. America is a country known for its liberties and freedoms and the constitution holding those in place, and those who are taking them gradually know that if they were to take them suddenly people here would not like it at all and they may have a revolt on their hands, so they take them gradually so that people won't notice. They also bring about catastrophes like terrorist attacks to make people afraid so they will willingly give up their liberties and freedoms to be "secure" from the terrorists.
Your freedom isn't being gradually taken away from you. How many people who you meet regularly have been arrested or prosecuted under the Patriot Act since 9/11? In the UK we have the Terrorism Act, and I can assure you that none of the many people I know have been arrested under the Terrorism Act. This idea of erosion of your liberty is in your head. It's not happening. You haven't become less free than you were under 9/11. If you had, you would know about it because you would have been in trouble with the authorities.
Princess Leia, there are many ways in which you can help oppressed people. You could get in touch with an adoption organisation, which looks after children in countries where there isn't as much freedom as you have. You could adopt a child from one of those countries, and it could grow up to have as much freedom as you have. You could rescue somebody who has very strict religious parents from their parents, rehabilitate them and teach them how to be free. You could donate to charities that help liberate people who are at risk of being forced into marriage or being killed for honour. You could raise awareness of the restricted people who I mentioned in my previous post. You could protest outside the embassies of countries which impose tyranny on their people. There are so many things you could do, but instead you say that you are losing your freedom, even though you haven't found yourself in trouble with the authorities for offenses under the Patriot Act or any other act which was passed after 9/11.
oy... and what about before 9/11? This is all indeed a screen. A big, shiny, 3d screen. I mean this is happening too for a long time but wether this futuristic view is true or not is really up to time to decide. Let me quote: "we would either be attacked with nuclear or biological weapons before 2013." WE already are being attacked. Look all the s**t they put on every single food (its hard enough to find something that's purely organic). Nuclear weapons I don't thinkn so, but mental weapons (terrible adverts, horrible music from the "record stores", ETC) are already in place. I would not be surprised when this "country" gets bombed--it should have been ever since... well, ever since the word "politician" and the concepts of government were in place. Anyway, its supposed to be Christmas, so only time will tell... that's a scary thing, but it is labelled as "reality".

Look them up online and check out the videos about them on youtube. Scary stuff and it will have an effect on all of us sooner or later, regardless of where we live or to what country or theories we hold our alliances. As for corruption and lies, I'm afraid that Greece has America beat, though I'm not proud to say it. Not in the sense of spying and killing (though that sometimes happens), but definitely in the sense of stealing. Huge protests going on now because of the murder of a 15-year-old boy by the cops. Fires, riots and from that and the scandals with the government giving money to the Church etc the people are clling for New Democracy (the ruling party) to step down and for a new election. I wouldn't be surprised if one takes place before February, despite all the crap from Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis. Even his own people are deserting him! Wildebrew, you also made a good point about America falling from grace. Boy oh boy has it ever and I think that's really sad for those who truly love the place. Believe me, I know just how you feel, if not more so. You don't have the weight of Western civilisation on your shoulders. The only hope for America that I can see is Obama when he becomes president, if the NWO doesn't sway him too badly. I also think that those opposed to these things should fight or at least take safety precautions for themselves to prepare for times ahead.

Also, for those who ask who gets convicted under the Patriot Act, here is a link from the Washington Post that lists people who were convicted under the Patriot Act. Notice how many of the names on the list have "non-terrorism related" by their names. It seems odd that terrorism legislation could be used to convict people on non-terrorism related charges, doesn't it?

Also, there was an article in the Financial Times, which is a very well known newspaper talking about a world government being formed, and toward the end it talks about how forming this world government would require things to be pushed through without voters and also that it would be more antidemocratic.

Um...Didn't we just have an election that dealt with at least some of this? We voted out the Republicans, remember? I'm not seeing jackbooted troops on my street (or hearing them, for that matter), and I have every confidence that Barack Obama is going to roll back the atrocities performed under the Patriot Act. Maybe I'm a pie-in-the-sky optimist, but I believe in the change that took place on Nov. 4, and will take place for real on Jan. 20. And...above all, don't believe everything you read.

So what has happened to you people who claim that you are losing your freedom? Not once have any of you written in this topic about a freedom that you no longer have because of the legislation that was passed after 9/11 to which you refer.
It is not from reading something on the internet or what somebody else has to say that I have reached my conclusion. It is from my own personal experience. I haven't lost any freedom because of legislation passed as a result of terrorist attacks, such as the Terrorism Act. I have read posts here and elsewhere on the internet, from people in the US saying that they are losing their freedom. In China you wouldn't be able to post so easily about losing your freedom, because there you are not free. For as long as you can say you are losing your freedom without being prosecuted, jailed or even killed, in doing so, you will prove that you are still free.
Um, brilliant, genius, great one? Now Myspace and Facebook and other sites are blocking sites that speak out against what's going on. What do you call that?
... Honestly. Some people... how slow must you turn down your screenreader; you're missing big details.
If everything blocks the sites that speak out before you know it the whole country will have firewalls that block those sites... and then it goes on... and on... and we all go to hell.

I'd rather be wrong too. And what about people put in prison just because they're Muslim and aren't some people being sent there without due trial? Think of all the ridiculous political correctness out there now. You get arrested just for saying a word. And what about smoking bans? Whether you like smokers or not, this is just the beginning. They'll come after whatever you do next. Think of how certain states tried to ban abortion. Am I saying that all of this is because of 911 and that all has to do with the NWO? No, but one thing leads to another. Get the people used to losing little things and it'll be easier to take away bigger ones, force them to wear RFID chips etc. I never used to think this way either and I'm sure some of these people are going way too far, but alot of it does make sense.

RFID is a type of microchip that can be injected under the skin. People are starting to use it on their pets and it may be used for people with health problems so they will have all of their health info on the chip.
